i’ve realized that there’s a monster
living inside me
that comes out
in the form of nail art, bird noises, and post-it drawings.

neeta moved to seattle

to become a medical student doctor.

before she left

we met up with our friends

and we all danced together

under the stars

on a boat

wearing sailor hats.

sometimes saying goodbye is hard

and I realized

the best way to say it

is by having a lot of fun

before you leave.
